Some of these are free and some are premium. You don’t need to have all of them. Just pick one that suits your needs (and agrees with your pocket, of course :P). We recommend you experiment around with the free ones so you can get a better idea of how SEO works, and what plugin is best suited to your website.
1. WordPress SEO by Yoast
This one is also one of the best SEO plugins available for free. It offers a complete SEO solution for major SEO elements like permalinks, titles, keywords, meta descriptions etc. It is also easier to learn. This is one of the most highly recommended SEO plugin, especially for beginners.
2. All In One SEO Pack
This is perhaps one of the most widely used plugin among WordPress users. It offers a comprehensive solution to all your major SEO needs. It lets you generate meta tags, and optimize your titles for Search Engines. It also lets you select SEO keywords for your blog posts. I think it’s a must-have for every blogger.
3. SEO Smart Links
This tool automatically finds keywords and phrases in your posts and links them to other related posts on your site. It also allows you to add attributes like ‘nofollow‘. Search Engines like inter-linking pages. Hence it increases your page rank.
4. SEO Friendly Images
Images can drive a lot of traffic to a blog. So you should optimize your images as well and not only your text content. This small tool automatically updates all images’ ALT and TITLE descriptions. Handy if you are short on time or forgot to add alt and title descriptions. But for titles, you must name your images meaningfully. For example, I named the image at the top “WordPress SEO Plugins.jpg”. Don’t use names like “image007.jpg” or similar.
5. Google XML Sitemaps
This one is a must-have for your blog. It creates a sitemap for your site that is compatible with all the major search engines like Google, Yahoo!, Bing etc. This helps crawlers and search bots to better index your pages, hence increasing your website traffic. This tool also submits any new blog posts you write to search engines.

Scribe SEO acts like a checklist for your SEO. It checks your post titles, keywords, images’ alt tags, meta descriptions etc, and tells you what part needs optimization. This is very handy if you need to optimize your old posts.
7. SEO No Duplicate
Search engines do not appreciate duplicate content. They see you as a spammer if they find some. This tool will check all your content, and inform you if there is any duplicate content present.
8. Pingback Optimizer
Whenever you get a backlink, search engines don’t know immediately. They need to be notified about it. Pingback Optimizer does the job for you by submitting your trackback notifications to RSS directories, which then link to your trackbacks/pingbacks. This boosts your search engine ranking. You must try this one out!
9. Broken Link Checker
This plugin will let you know about all broken links (404 error links), internal or external, on your blog. That way, you can take action regarding any dead-end your visitors might land at.
10. Redirection plugin
An even better solution to the 404 (broken links) problem is the Redirection Plugin. This handy little tool creates redirections for any broken links internal or external. This means that now, you don’t need to worry when changing your post links. Redirection tool will take care of all links to that post. This is another must-have plugin
