The early age hardships

She was born in 1954 in the house of two unmarried teenagers in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Her family was a Baptist family and it was due to her mother that her name was Oprah since it is a name from the bible. Her parents were still figuring out their options when she was born and so she had to live with her grandmother until she was six years old. When her grandmother died she moved back in with her parents and other three half-brothers.

During the time she used to live with her mother, she got abused by many of her relatives that her family actually trusted. This abuse started at the age of nine and it was because of these calamities that she was a very hard to handle teenager. She used to run away from her house and break glasses just so she could buy herself more stylish ones. She even got pregnant at the age of fourteen and but the baby sadly died after the birth.

The beginning of her career

She then joined a high school in Nashville, Tennessee and became an excellent student. She used to take part in the international competitions of her school and it was due to her incredible speaking manner she earned a scholarship to the Tennessee State University. And from this point on, she started become the kind of celebrity that we all are aware of today. She became a major part of the news anchoring business right after that and was positioned as an anchor in Baltimore as the co-anchor of the six o’clock news. After 26 years of non-stop exertions and pains she is now one of the most powerful women of the world and is among the 100 people who have influenced the 20^th century the most. She is the perfect example of “from zero to hero” and is the biggest example of hard work and triumph.
