Being the most expensive form of commutation, Airports are designed and constructed way too carefully in order to provide all good to the local and foreign passengers. If you have been travelling a lot, then you might have compiled your own list of the worst airports that you might have experienced. Here goes a quick list of worst airports in the world on our credit!
Have a look!
Islamabad Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Pakistan
Looking at the top spot on our list, we have got Benazir Bhutto international Airport in Islamabad, Pakistan. What it seems to passengers is no less than a prison for once a traveler remarked in a survey: “This airport is like a central prison. Many of touts and taxi drivers loot people at airport and outside”
Highly crowded and mismanaged airport is also criticized for its being insufficient of security system. Also there are complains of lack of services for passengers, basic facilities and latest technology. Pervasive corruption and lack of cleanliness are also factors that people mentioned in a survey 2013 to 2014. This dark spot would soon be diminished with new airport launching in 2016 in Islamabad.
Jeddah King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Saudi Arabia
The second worst airport is Jeddah King Abdul Aziz International Airport of Saudi Arabia. Being one of the busiest airports in Saudi Arabia it is a transit hub for annual hajj pilgrimage passengers. This makes it much more crowded than usual ones. Rude and indifferent attitudes of immigration officers and lack of cleanliness are main factors disliked by passengers. One of them remarked: “While hundreds of passengers are in the queue they are talking to each other for a long time.” the frustration in this statement is quite evident. Also one of the complaints were lack of chairs and that too made of metal, a complete unrest for passengers.
Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal
Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport is one bad mark for Nepal. People who have been through an experience of this airport are seemed to be much frustrated and sorry about its condition. Overall lack of cleanliness and mismanagement because of traffic of many people at a time are the reasons mentioned by travelers. They put an emphasis on worst condition of washrooms. Lack of basic facilities like air conditioning and security services are not guaranteed. For some or other reason a passenger said: “Just make very sure that you never, never need to use the washrooms in this airport.”
Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Philippines
Breaking the consistency of being on the top of worst airports’ list, Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport finally came to forth spot which is a considerable enough improvement. Still it’s a list of worst airports so there are a great many reasons to make it one. Lack of air conditioning, rude behavior of staff and lack of cleanliness especially of toilets make passengers suffer from inconvenience. Overcrowded lounge with no management policies and infinite queues are other grievances.
Tashkent International Airport, Uzbekistan
The biggest airport in central Asia, Tashkent International Airport of Uzbekistan comes on fifth number. Statistics show that about 2 million passengers pass through its gates every year. Then it can be justified that the main grievance about this airport is a huge and uncontrollable crowd with no proper management. In short it’s a complete chaos from check-in to security and boarding to baggage.
Paris Beauvais- Tille International Airport, France
Often known to resemble a bus station, Paris Beauvais-Tille International Airport stands on sixth position. This is because of quite unique reasons as one of them is the location of this airport. It is located at a long distance from city which makes it much more inconvenient for passengers. Unfriendly environment, lack of cleanliness and ill-management of the staff put cherry on the top.
Frankfurt Hahn International Airport, Germany
Our seventh spot is occupied by Frankfurt Hahn International Airport in Germany. One of the reasons for being worst is same as that of Paris Beauvais airport that it is located a long way far than center of Frankfurt city. It is the biggest grievance of passengers suffering from difficulties in reaching by time. Yet another problem is the uncomfortable and limited seats providing no place to sleep as told by experienced sleepers.
Bergamo Orio al Serio international Airport, Italy
On number eighth, we have Bergamo Orio al Serio International airport which is quite popular among passengers because of low budgets and cheap services. But the problem arises with that of very small size of this airport and a large crowd of passengers. Lack of facilities like seating arrangement, Wi-Fi availability and cooperation from staff is absent on this airport and you are not at all warmly welcomed when the lady from behind the operator says that. For what a frustrated soul said: “the only way this airport could be improved would be to destroy it and rebuild.”
Berlin Tegil International Airport, Germany
Our ninth spot filled up with Berlin Tegil International Airport of Germany is struggling since 1970 to improve and meet the requirements to fill all the passengers at a time conveniently. But it is quite a struggle till today. People from all around the world rush to berlin for its beautiful attractions but they have to pay a great cost by experiencing this airport. Crowded halls and restaurants are some pretty features.
New York City LaGuardia International Airport, USA
The last name is New York City LaGuardia International Airport that also comes in the list of worst North America’s airports and in fact tops this list. Poor management, old fashioned architecture and décor, small area and misbehaving staff are chief factors that need to be eliminated to maintain the reputation of this airport.
